The Educational Services Center has moved to Ranum High School, 2401 W. 80th Ave
The ESC has relocated to the west wing of Ranum High School, 2401 W. 80th Ave. Phone numbers remain the same, and District 50 offices will be up and running at Ranum on July 7, 2008. Our summer hours are Monday-Thursday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The former site of the ESC is in the footprint of the brand new high school, and groundbreaking is just around the corner! The former ESC building will be demolished once salvage crews have gone through and taken out fixtures and appliances for use in other District 50 facilities.
The ESC move began in earnest last Monday June 23, when District 50 employees assisted a moving company to transfer desks and boxes from the old site to Ranum. That left administrators working on folding tables. By July 1 -- ahead of schedule -- tech services had transferred all phones and computers to Ranum, readying the new District 50 office for business as usual on July 7.
“It was a huge orchestrated team working on this move,” said Assistant Superintendent Sandy Rotella. “There is still a lot of work to be done, but there is a lot going on behind the scenes. Maintenance has worked very hard, and the result is that we are up to speed, on task and ready to close out the fiscal year.”
During the move there was little disruption to District 50 operations, and that was thanks to the many District employees who worked long days to pack up the old building and prepare the new site at Ranum.
Once the new high school is complete, the District 50 offices will be located there. Parents, students and teachers won’t have far to go to contact administrators for records, school board information or to have their questions answered.
“One of the benefits of having the administration embedded in the school – besides cost-effectiveness – is that it keeps us focused and grounded,” said Superintendent Roberta Selleck. “We exist because we have students, and this provides opportunity for the students and our staff to interact.”
So please pardon the dust and drying paint as the ESC settles into its new temporary home in the west wing of Ranum High. Our commitment to customer service and to providing the best education in Colorado to District 50 students is stronger than ever, and we look forward to welcoming you to our new location.

Summer Updates
In the Spring of 2008 our counselors pre-registered (course selection) your child for the 2008-2009 school year. Now it is time to REGISTER your students. All PARENTS AND STUDENTS need to attend. In an effort to speed up the process, we are enclosing the necessary forms for you to complete and bring back with you at the time of registration, which will take place August 5th and 6th from 1:00–7:00 p.m. During registration, you will be able to:
* Pick up your child’s class schedule
* Pay school fees ($20 per student)
* Turn in proof of immunization if necessary
(Remember students who are not up-to-date will not be allowed to register for school.)
Please help us make this a successful year for your child by attending registration. August 14th is a ½ day for 6th graders with a noon dismissal time, and the first day of school for all students will be on August 18th. School hours this year are from 8:50 am. – 4:00 pm; breakfast will be served at 8:45 am. Mark your calendar for the “Back to School Barbeque” on August 21st at 5:30 p.m. Come meet teachers, take a tour of the school and enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs and chips with us! We hope to see you soon! If for some reason you are unable to attend registration
or have any other questions, please call the school at (303)428-7526 so that your child’s schedule is held for him/her. Remember, even returning students must register.
